EqD Artist Training Grounds II -- Day 14

This is my entry for day fourteen of Equestria Daily's Artist Training Grounds II art event [link] Today's theme was "a pony traveling/an exotic pony" with emphasis on "concept building and world development." I immediately imagined some ponies sailing around Equestria and the surrounding lands, so here's Annabelle dressed as a pirate hanging from the rigging on the side of a ship.

I'm afraid my ship may look a bit strange (I think I drew the mast off center ), not drawing ships much, and I wanted the background to look more like the background in this sketch [link] , but I still had fun drawing this I would have liked to spend more time on this , but then I'd probably still be drawing it on into tomorrow and I have to submit it by midnight. I also wish my scanner was better >__<

The islands in the distance are supposed to be the Griffon Isles to the east of Equestria, based on what is indicated on the map here [link]

Also, this is going to be my last entry for a while. My brother and I are visiting a friend tomorrow and will be staying for several days, so I won't have much time for drawing these things

Trivia Time
There isn't much trivia for this one this time. The only thing is that Annabelle is not exhibiting any wings because they would get caught in the ropes and rigging on the ship. They might even be dangerous during storms and such, acting like sails and causing Annabelle to be buffeted about by strong winds and thrown overboard. That was my reasoning, but what do I know?
